So we just made our first car purchase (sophie bought her bug from her dad, but this was the first time either of us had actually gotten a car loan) and we love it. It's an '05 nissan xterra with 67,000 miles on it. It is great in the snow and it handled great when I took it off road. It has a good sized back seat so we should be able to keep it until we have about 3 kids hopefully, it has tons of space behind the seat for my bike or anything else and it has great safety reviews so we are happy with it. It gets just about 19 miles per gallon and I am trying to get it above 20 with a new, better air filter and driving about 5 miles per hour slower on the freeway...I'll let you know how it goes.
