Race!

So recently I have been racing mountain bikes. I know, awesome right? Oh, and this is Andrew, not Sophie, just in case you were wondering. So I won't even try to tell you about all the races cause that would take too long and none of you would actually read it. Besides, I know everyone 'bloghops' for the pictures anyway so I'll hurry and get to the point. So this last weekend was the...4th? race I've done this spring/summer and it was miserable but nonetheless very fun. My brother Jake, his son Nathan and I all raced and we each ended up getting 5th in our respective categories. At one point the course was so wet and muddy that it felt like we were skiing instead of mountain biking. It was so muddy and potentially trecherous that they shortened the course from 11 miles to 3.5 so that no one would die. If you click on the following link you can see some of the 'professional' pictures that they took of us during the race: http://www.zazoosh.com/events/searchPhotos/202?evtId=202&query=weber

Here is one of them that is of me on a long stretch where almost everyone went down. Notice that I am on my bike while the people behind me are walking :)

And if you are too lazy to go check out those photos then I will conveniently post a couple of my brother and nephew so you can see what a cool bunch of people we are.

Isn't he a cool kid??

And here is the old guy...

So I work for a pretty cool company. (Wait for it...the last sentence is not completly random...) And so they decided to sponsor me. They paid for a couple of my races and they also bought me some new tight shorts and printed their logo on them. I say tight because it is the first time that I have ever riden with just spandex on. Normally I wear the bike shorts over them. Don't worry though. I know you are all thinking how lurpy I must have looked with my skinny legs and all...but I think I looked pretty sexy.

Because my company was so cool in sponsoring me I had to take some pictures so they could put a few up on the wall here at work.

And here is one last picture of our muddy bikes on Jake's truck after the race.

I think MAMB has a new member, welcome Sophie! Hopefully next time we try to "spectate" the weather will be a little less . . . hmmm, sopping wet? freezing? muddy? horribly miserable?! and everyone can actually get out of the car. :)
