We headed down to Arizona for a quick Spring Training vacation.
We went down with Adam & Tiffany, and stayed with Tiffany's older sister. It was way fun!
Since neither Tiff nor I had ever been to spring training, or a Seattle Mariners game, this trip was a first for us. :)
I had my first 'first' here at her sister's favorite restaurant... a falafel sandwich/wrap. It was pretty good! I had never even heard the word falafel before.
I think all of us would have gone back for seconds...
Then after shopping (trying to find the boys a Mariners Tee shirt) and driving around the city a bit we headed back to her sister's house, where we soon learned what a great cook she was!
Chicken Tacos. They were unlike any other I have had... and SO good!
After dinner we had some awesome entertainment...
Her cute boy pulled his tooth out! It was awesome! He was prepping for it all night, and we each had our designated assignment for the big event... mine was to take a picture after ;)
Then Friday was our first game.
(notice who the true fans are... Tiff and I are sporting our matching Mariners shirts ;)
The boys finally found themselves a Mariners shirt.
If you have seen Friends.. you might enjoy the picture below like I do..
Pivot! Pivot!! Pivot!!
Nothing like some good Wii dancing...
Ohh, I also got to dip into the knowledge of oils, it was very interesting, I was fascinated by it. I even got sent home with my own allergy concoction...(and it worked! Which is a big deal for me :)
Then out to dinner with all the adults. but watch out Andrew.. that is a cactus.. and it will poke you when you lean against it :)
I LOVED the trees.. The smell of citrus... hmmm.. I can't wait for the day I get my own fruit trees!
(who needs a ladder when you have Andrew??)
Saturday morning we went out and helped pick lemons and grapefruits.
Then headed out to the farmers market before the game.
Oh and did I mention how AMAZING the weather was!? Yeah.. I think Saturday it was in the 90's. :)
Back for game #2
Mariners vs the Dodgers
Here is our ball boy, that threw Andrew and Adam balls after the game, and even got one signed for us.
Ohh, Tiff's sister introduced us to a delightful snack/treat...
Peanut Butter Pretzels dipped in nutella.. yummm...
go try it.
Yup, then she spoiled us with another amazing dinner..
We woke up Sunday morning and headed home.
We made a little stop at the Hoover Dam. It was a good leg stretch, and bit of fresh air.
Then we headed home.
Overall it was good fun, good family, good food, & good games, but I don't think I could have gone another hour without seeing my kids.
Happy Spring training!
